Savory, Summer

Savory is a renowned herb that is milder that winter savory that similar to marjoram, yet unique.  This herb is widely used in German, Hungarian and Romanian cuisines.  


Origin: Europe

Flavor & Pairing: Summer savory's flavor is mildly peppery and delicately pungent.  Pairs well with marjoram, rosemary, thyme, oregano, parsley and many other herbs. 

Culinary Uses: Add summer savory to braised meats, beans, lentils, venison or rabbit. Season omelets, scrambled eggs, and deviled eggs with finely chopped summer savory.
